*** A note to all who have not registered to use this site***
To actually buy goods, you will first need to click the tab above marked "Shop". Once through to the shop, you can then register to use the site. I then physically approve customers and email them once I have done so. Although a bit of a pain in the butt for people, it's a security measure to help prevent "hackers, bots and spam agents" from getting into the site and also to help protect your details and teir confidentiality too. So, if you want to look, feel free to do so, but if you want to register, then kindly take 3 minutes out to register your details. You will then have the use of the shopping basket and checkout. Apologies for any hassles this may cause but it's as much for your safety as mine. Thanks, Andy.
LRF (Light Rock Fishing) really began, for British waters, late in 2009.
At a time when the vast majority of lure anglers, including myself, had tucked away their rods and reels for the winter, the Jersey Bass guides and a few of their close friends began to learn the various styles used in Japanese LRF and adapting them for use in our waters here in the UK / Northern Europe. It is, in my opinion, mainly down to this original core of anglers that we owe what LRF has become today. Although everyone still admits that "we are all learning, all the time". So don't go thinking this is an "elitist" sport. Its not! It's for everyone from a young child, fishing with their Dad, to the whole family joining in too.
Why is it so good for the whole family? Because unlike most fishing disciplines, once you have learnt to "feel" your way through your fishing, you will notice a massive increase in the quantity of fish that you are catching. In such circumstances, it is so much easier to keep the kids entertained and even finding mum beginning to show an active interest too.
Tackle, at first, was very hard to come by. Having to import it privately (where possible) from Japan. Now though, a few fore-sighted tackle dealers are stocking suitable rods, reels and lines etc. As such, LRF is a very much easier side of the sport of fishing to get into now. Although I would hasten to warn anyone from going out and just buying a rod of "x" brand rated to around 7 grams casting weight and thinking they can fish with it. Being able to "feel" what is happening at the hook end of things is vital to LRF. If you cannot feel what's happening, then you will miss out on so many bites and fish, that you'll likely end up packing it in without having ever experiencing LRF in the first place.
I noticed that for a sport which utilizes hook sizes right down to a size 20 (that's size twenty, not 2/0), the vast majority of the lures - mainly soft plastics (SP's) - were way too big for what I wanted. This is where I came in and after a long, long time of searching and trying to find good quality supplies of not just the SP's, but the hooks and jigheads to mount them upon, primarily for my son and I. But after keep being asked, "What are they and where can I get them?" I decided to by the various pieces of tackle in and supply them myself. As such, I am now in a position to offer them to you at a reasonable price. These lures haven't just been chosen by me and laid out before you for sale though. They have been tested through the winter and into the spring / summer months too. Not just by my son and I either. I have sent them out to friends around the country as well as the Keith and Kevin White, the Jersey Bass Guides (JBG), and results have not just been promising, they have been really good! It's through all the efforts of everyone involved that I can state, without fear of contradiction, that these are consistent fish catchers!
Sure, you have to be where the fish are, they won't "call the fish" from miles around for you. But once you have learned where fish are and how to fish for them a'la LRF, you will able to pursue them with the knowledge that you are using specifically tailored tackle.
Just because these particular items have been sourced and secured, that in no way means the searching and striving for improvement stops there. Like the sport itself, LRF equipment is constantly evolving, growing and improving. As such, supplies available to the angler deserve the very same and I intend to bring them to the fingertips of the LRF fisherman in our waters!
On a personal note, I would like to add Jack's and my thanks to all those who tested these SP's, jigheads and other products. Letting me know how they faired, good or bad, and specially to Keith and Kevin White, who have not only worked rigorously testing these goods, but also for constantly encouraging me to continue searching for the RIGHT products, rather than ones "that'll do", and to not stop seeking the improvement of them either.
Special thanks too, to Dr Thomas Klokow, for all his web help.
Some of us just are NOT cut out for computers!

Dave Watson from Jersey won the Jersey Bass Festival's Catch and Release section. He had already caught a nice shore Pollack of around 4lbs in weight, which completely trashed the swim he was then using, using one of our 6" Black HWL stickbaits / senkos. Later on in another swim, he managed to pull out a very fine 71cm / 28" 8lb bass on exactly the same lure! This fish was more than enough to give him the Catch and Release Trophy. A very sincere "Well Done, Dave!!" from all at JacksLRF.
Jay La Roche, Paul Gunning and Mike Sullivan have all had great results in the last week or so on the tiny SP's. Check out Jay's, Paul's and Mike's Blogs for details of their catches.

It is true that I can not get to go fishing anywhere near as often as I would like any more. It is just as true that without the help of certain trusted individuals, I would not of been able to bring you as much of the correct equipment as I can and will.

Quite a few people who have bought these have asked me how best to use them. Personally, I like them on a very lightly weighted "trace" with just one or two medium to large split shot, depending on tide, current and wind conditions.
